My personal tragedy, my brother Bobby. It was 1994 and I just returned from seeing the movie Philadelphia with Tom Hanks with a friend. When I arrived home, I received a phone call from my dad that my brother Bobby had died from a heroin overdose. I fell to my knees and thought this can't be true. He was only 39. My brother struggled with opioids and pills for years leading to time spent in jail. In the 90s heroin was being cut with bad stuff just as opioids are today. I decided that day I would dedicate my life to helping addicts survive the affliction of drug addiction. Since then, I have lost a sister-in-law, a friend's nephew, a friend's son, and many more.
